Submissions

I would like to state, beginning this page, that every effort has been made, and will always be made to make sure each race is unique and enjoyable, and for that to extend to players coming to the game; the hard line is this, that some races have things other races do not, and for a specific reason and will not change. If you like something about 'x' race so much, play it. If you look at power mechanics and see 'x' race is the best to play because of 'y' bonus, play them and have your fun, pretty much each race has an 'x' factor to it, or has been tried to be written like that so that hopefully, you can read the playable races and want to play every one! There is also the option that Racial Skill Lists are optional, not mandatory, and that you can gleam what you like from breaking a mold, if you so choose to not take them - there are plenty of Skill Lists for everyone…

That said, it is possible to design Skill Lists or submit proposals to ELEMENT, but I would ask that it now follows this procedure, effective immediately (10th September 2015):

1: Preamble: Write up a one or two paragraph description for the theme and intention of the idea being submitted.

2: The Idea: In the case of a Skill List, it should take into account the following details:

Level One: [Title]: And a brief description that should cover something like a +1 Bonus of some sort. Often I consider level one to cover 'Sense' or 'Senses'

Level Two: [Title]: And a brief description that should cover something like a +2 Bonus of some sort. Level Two is normally a Defensive measure, though this is not a hard and fast rule, but intended as a guide.

Level Three: [Title]: And a brief description that should cover something like a +3 Bonus of some sort, or granting a special ability. Level Three skills are usually something that may be considered 'Manipulation' of some sort.

Level Four: [Title]: And a brief description that can cover bonuses up to a total of +4, combining perhaps abilities or something specifically minded to the Skill List theme.

Level Five: [Title]: And a brief description that can cover bonuses up to a total of +5, or perhaps focusing attacks or special abilities that are set into the intended theme for dramatic effect, nominally between once to five times per day, depending on whether it is for defence or attack.

3: The Submission: Proposed Skill Lists or amendments to ELEMENT will ONLY BE CONSIDERED during the Winter Period of the gaming season - if they are sent before, or after the Winter Period, they will not be considered. They will be more than likely edited and changed in some degree, or they may be turned down, if they are considered to not be fitting to ELEMENT. Don't be offended.
